Home Dead Animal Removal

Dead Animal Removal: locate, remove, deodorize.

A dead rodent in a wall or a deceased raccoon in the crawlspace is one of the worst smells imaginable, and it can last weeks if untreated. We respond same-day in most of the Bay Area, locate the source, remove the carcass, and treat the area so the smell ends.

Emergency · Same-Day

The smell is the symptom. The carcass is the cause.

You can spray air freshener for weeks and the odor will keep coming back. The decay process takes 2 to 4 weeks indoors and the smell intensifies as it goes. Worse, the carcass attracts flies, beetles, and other scavengers that compound the problem. The only solution is to find and remove it, even if that means cutting a small access into a wall or pulling crawlspace insulation.

FAQs

What people ask about this service.

How quickly can you come out?
Usually same-day, often within hours during normal hours. We treat dead-animal calls as emergencies because the smell only gets worse.
What if it is inside a wall?
We use detection methods (odor source, fly activity, listening) to narrow down the location. In some cases a small access cut is required, which we patch cleanly. We always discuss options before cutting.
How long until the smell is gone?
Once removed and treated, most odors are dramatically improved within a day and gone within 2 to 3 days. Severe long-term decomposition can take longer.
Can't I just wait it out?
Technically yes, but the smell typically gets worse for the first 1 to 2 weeks and can linger for 4 to 6 weeks. Most people find it intolerable. The carcass also attracts other pests during decay.
Do you find out how the animal got in?
Yes, and we recommend exclusion work to prevent it happening again. A lot of dead-animal calls trace back to underlying access problems.
Don't wait. They multiply.
